Yes, the proliferation of the testing magnates from Europe to Chile, the US to Haiti have all perfected the art of panoptic visions for our children.

All good teachers and citizens understand the reall curriculum is life and thus a curriculum that is relevant and provides opporunities for students to reason is the curriculum that will assure critical thinking and creative thinking.

But the test takers want to work backwards. They want to privatize and sell the tests, the develop a curriculum around them, all feeding into their multinational corporate profit schemes.

Not only this, but the tests are wedded to the concept of legitimacy, when in fact they are ruthless sorting mechanism for the class society, determining where in the food chain one will sit.

We can only hope that the British unions will fight with vehemence these standardized tests that and the Mad Curriculum Disease (MCD) that accompanies them. They are derogatory to sensible minds and if not stopped, will reduce education and critical literacy to nothing.
